Guidelines for Forming an Interfaith Power and Light in your State
The Regeneration Project, in cooperation with the state IPLs, has developed some criteria or guidelines that are common to all state affiliates. If you would like to form an IPL in your state, please contact us. But first, make sure your project or seed of a project fits or will fit the guidelines below:
1. Is faith-based and inclusive of multiple faith traditions.
2. Has a steering committee or board of directors that includes ordained religious leaders.
3. Advocates for clean energy, conservation and responsible stewardship of Creation in response to global warming.
4. Will adopt the essential components of the Interfaith Power and Light mission:
Interfaith Power and Light seeks to be faithful stewards of Creation by responding to global warming through the promotion of energy conservation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy. This ministry intends to protect the earth's ecosystems, safeguard public health, and ensure sufficient, sustainable energy for all.
5. Has a written work plan and timeline that provides a description of your strategy for taking action and raising funds.
